CSO (Customer Service Officer)
We are looking for a new casual employee to join our team!
Our Customer Service Officers are responsible for the delivery of efficient and courteous reception and kiosk services to patrons of the Blackwood Community Recreation Centre. The shifts will also involve some set up for gymnastics program happening the following day.
We are looking for someone to work roughly 8-10 hours per week with the following shifts:
Sunday 5:15pm – 9:30pm
Wednesday 6:00pm – 10:00pm
Shifts end times may vary depending on activities running at the Centre. Cover shifts will also be available. The chance for more permanent hours may also arise over time.
Our new team member will require the following qualifications:
– First aid & CPR
– Working with Children Check
We are also hoping for applicants to have:
– Customer service experience
– The ability to multitask
– Great communications skills (with patrons and management)
– Ability to be proactive and use their initiative
– An interest in the Sport and Recreation industry

Vacfun Leader
Time Frame: September 29th – October 10th with more shifts in school holiday periods going forward.

We are looking to find applicants for casual employment within the centre! Our Vacfun Leaders are responsible for the safe delivery of efficient, friendly and engaging activities for children participating in the Vacfun Program at the Blackwood Recreation Centre.
We are also hoping for applicants to have:
- Experience working with & supervising children
- The ability to multitask
- Previous experience in a School Holiday program or similar would be an advantage
- Ability to be proactive & use their initiative
- Ability to implement Children’s activities

Skate Assistant
We are looking to find applicants for casual employment within the centre!
The school holiday period is a busy time for the Recreation Centre and we are looking for staff who could become part of our skating team!
Time Frame: September 29th – October 10th School Holidays. There would be potential on going work in the weekend skating sessions and future school holidays.
The Skating Assistant is responsible for the safe & timely set up and running of our skating sessions. This includes private bookings as well as general public sessions.
Tasks while on shift can include:• Set up of skating area• Set up of Birthday Party areas (on weekends)
- Checking on skates and equipment
- Supervise skaters to ensure safety of all patrons
- Give out Skate/Blades to all patrons as they arrive
- Teach new skaters how to skate and assist less experienced skaters as required.
- Organise entertainment/games etc for skaters e.g. Limbo, Change Direction & Speed rounds
Qualifications required:
- WWCC
- First Aid & CPR Training
Skill Sets required:
- Ability to rollerskate/blade at a above average to high level
- Good at working with children and groups
- Friendly, encouraging and outgoing
