The Board

The Blackwood Community Recreation Association Inc. is run by a 10 member volunteer Board of Management.

The Board is made up of representatives from the Lions & Rotary Clubs of Blackwood, the City of Mitcham and Centre users. 

The Board meets monthly from February to December, on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00pm.

Members of the Board are appointed for 2 year terms with half the Board up for re-election each year.

The AGM is held in April each year.  Nominations are now open for a position on the Board of Management

The Board is responsible for Governing the organisation by establishing broad policies, by-laws and objectives, ensuring the availability of adequate financial resources, approval of the annual budgets and generally attending to all matters affecting the responsibilities and welfare of the Association.

The day to day management of the Centre is carried out by our team of staff, including a full time Manager and Assistant Manager/Sports Coordinator and part time Finance Officer and Administration Officer. Approximately 40 casual staff are employed as Customer Service Officers, Coaches/Instructors, referees and umpires to run the various sports & activities offered by the Centre.
