The Board

The Blackwood Community Recreation Association Inc. is run by a 10 member volunteer Board of Management.

The Board is made up of representatives from the both the Lions & Rotary Clubs of Blackwood and Centre users. The City of Mitcham has a seat on the Board but does not currently have a representative attending meetings.

The Board meets monthly from February to December, on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30pm.

Members of the Board are appointed for 2 year terms with half the Board up for re-election each year.

The AGM is held in April each year.

2016 Annual Report

The Board is responsible for Governing the organisation by establishing broad policies, by-laws and objectives, ensuring the availability of adequate financial resources, approval of the annual budgets and generally attending to all matters affecting the responsibilities and welfare of the Association.

The day to day management of the Centre is carried out by our team of staff, including a full time Manager and Assistant Manager/Sports Coordinator and part time Finance Officer and Administration Officer. Approximately 40 casual staff are employed as Customer Service Officers, Coaches/Instructors, referees and umpires to run the various sports & activities offered by the Centre.

People's Feedback

Three mornings a week in the gym with a mate sets me up for the day and also keeps the dreaded diabetes at bay. Tongue gets the biggest workout with the friendly atmosphere.
