Rhythmic Gymnastics – Where Sport Meets Art
Rhythmic Gymnastics combines gymnastics movements with apparatus work and dance! Performing on the floor, Rhythmic Gymnasts use six apparatus; rope, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and freehand, to create fun and expressive routines to music. In Rhythmic Gymnastics athletes learn the basics of all apparatus, body elements and skills as well as routines with all apparatus.
Rhythmic Gymnastics is a competitional optional program with 5 to 7 year olds learning individual routines with the oportunity to perform them twice per year at in house events. 8 to 12 year olds learn both individual and group routines where athletes perfrom interconnected movements in groups of 3 to 5. 8 to 12 year olds have the option to compete at both in house and state based events. Performance and competition are optional and not a requirement of the program.
