Parkour Classes

Classes taught indoors in a safe environment by the South Australian Parkour Association. These classes are suitable for all skill and fitness levels. We recommend participants are at least 10 years of age. Please note classes do not include acrobatics or flips. In these classes qualified instructor’s will show participants new ways to run, land, jump, roll, vault, balance and climb using interesting and challenging movements.
Parkour is a non-competitive physical and mental training discipline focussed on using the human body to travel from Point A to Point B quickly, safely, and effectively. Tied into Parkour is a philosophy of ‘be strong to be useful’ and ‘to be and to last’. The Parkour community emphasises self-improvement and altruism as core values.

Classes will be held in the gym sports hall on Tuesdays from 6:30 until 8:00pm. Sessions will be $15 per class or $120 for 10 classes.

For more information please contact the centre.

Three more clubs join the LaunchPad Initiative!

LaunchPad Initiative

To close out 2013 the LaunchPad initiative is pleased to welcome Blackwood Gymsports, Athelstone Kindergym and Playford Kindergym, on board.

After successfully working through the Blast Off! Check list, these clubs are now waving the LaunchPad flag for quality fundamental gymnastics programs, with gymnastics being the foundation of ALL sport. It introduces and develops the dominant movement patterns that are the framework for all fundamental movement skills. Well-developed basics lead to an increase in long term participation benefits and research strongly indicates the benefit of brain development through movement – And it is FUN!

"Blackwood Gymsports are excited to receive the Launchpad stamp of approval and we look forward to working closely with our State YPC to develop and market our programs to our local community. Thanks to GSA for their patience and support along our accreditation journey" (Margaret, Blackwood Gymsports)

"Athelstone Kindergym is proud to receive the Launchpad stamp of approval. At AKG we pride ourselves on our high quality, inclusive programs allowing children 5 and under to further develop their skills. Thankyou Raelene and Chelsea for your time and support, we look forward to working with GymSA" (Natasha Muller, Athelstone Kindergym)

"We have always worked hard to provide high quality programming for our members who are aged 5 and under. Now having completed the checklist and having already completed the Launchpad: Zoom! Workshop we now have an official stamp to recognise our clubs commitment to children 5 and under and their caregivers in our community. The process was quite easy with a visit from Raelene who went through the checklist to make sure we were doing all the right things!" (Tricia, Playford Kindergym)

If you believe in increasing the fundamental movement skills of children aged 0-12 and the exposure of gymnastics in the community make sure your club joins the LaunchPad initiative during 2014.
